New Species mods are easy to spot as they typically include the wording ‘New Species’ in the title. The download button can be found on the right hand side of the mod page. All you need to do is register (its free) and then, once you find an animal you’d like in your game, download it.
This guide will focus on the New Species. New Species mods allow you to add new species to the game without having to replace an existing animal. For example, the replacement version of the Przewalski’s Wild Horse replaces the Zebra in game. Replacement mods replace an existing in-game animal with another. When it comes to in game animals, there are two types of mod: Replacement and New Species. Mods allow you modify and change certain aspects of the game.
